Watkins College of Art, Design, and Film presents Uncharted, a 2015 graphic design exhibition. Uncharted features the work of four senior graphic design students: Jayden Harmse, Sara Schork, Yanet Mireles, and Kelsey Goessman. Please join us for a drink and a peek at some of Nashville’s aspiring graphic designers.

DIRECTIONS

One is located on the top floor of Mercy Lounge at 1 Cannery Row, Nashville, TN. Parking is free after 5:30pm in front of Mercy Lounge or in the complimentary lots surrounding the building. The adjoining lots are owned by Cummins Station and operated by Republic Parking. Republic Parking generally charges a $5 fee to park in any of the lots owned by Cummins Station.

MEET THE DESIGNERS

Sara Schork

Sara Kathryn Schork moved to Nashville six years ago after pursuing her first degree in Communications from Boston University. Her love for the arts led her to Watkins College of Art, Design, and Film, where she explored her passion for typography and finding a clean, clever way to successfully organize any layout. She will be presenting a collection of work that includes advertising campaigns, logos, branding elements, and packaging.

While at Watkins, Sara’s work has been recognized and exhibited in a number of juried competitions. When away from her computer she enjoys printmaking, illustration, collecting books, running and being inspired by the local Nashville community.

Jayden Harmse

Originally from the friendly city of Port Elizabeth, South Africa, Jayden moved to America to pursue his passion for arts which led him to Watkins College of Art, Design and Film. He will present a strong variety of colorful and energetic projects from illustration, branding to packaging and web design.

When he is not at the computer, Jayden enjoys playing sports, traveling and exploring Nashville's bar and food scene. He plans to resided in Nashville and become part of the thriving art and design community, while growing his freelance design business.

Kelsey Goessman

Raised in the forests of southern Illinois, Kelsey Goessman quickly found an outlet through being creative, which led to her pursuing a career in graphic design in Nashville, Tennessee. Utilizing analog and digital techniques, she immerses herself in every project and strives to be innovative in creative problem solving.

Whether it may be packaging, web design, or hand-drawing typography, Kelsey’s passions clearly lie in her wide spectrum of work. When not working on projects, you may find her exploring in nature, feeding her vinyl addiction, or enjoying a nice cup of tea.

Yanet Mireles

Yanet is a graphic designer and long time resident of Nashville, TN. As a designer her primary passion is creating brand identities and packaging. She is inspired by hand-lettering, typography, vintage advertising, and all things printmaking. In her free time she likes to read, travel, photograph, and fill up her sketchbooks with anything and everything.
